Multiple Streams of Income and Old People?
By: The Smartass
Recent events have taught me that life is short and that I
can’t sit idly by and sit on my laurels. The ebb and flow of life can be like
the craziest roller coaster and even the best laid plans can go awry. I firmly
believe that one should not put all of your eggs in one basket, that diversification
is a good thing.
In the real estate market, I am looking at single family and
multi-family properties to attain passive income, but I am not opposed to a
flip in the event an incredible deal comes along. I also don’t believe in
blowing smoke up anyone’s ass and recognize that this time of the year is
slower for real estate and that properties are scarce.
Because of that, Ms. Lowball and I began looking into other
investments outside of real estate. We began looking for franchise
opportunities with a startup cost of $25,000 and below.
After a few days of searching, Ms. Lowball came back with
something called Music Bingo.
A sphincter says, “What???”
She tells me there is a great upside. When you buy the
franchise, you go to senior citizen events and play music while they play bingo
and they love it.
I might be a capitalist and Republican to the core, but I do
have a soft spot for puppies, blind kids and the elderly. I imagine this might
be a good enterprise, but I am investing to make money and I don’t want to do
it at the expense of seniors.
When Ms. Lowball told me about this, I immediately had bad
mental pictures in my head of the elderly breaking into song, “Do a little
dance, make a little love….” When the speaker calls out “O69”.
Call me crazy, say I am a bleeding heart liberal, but even I
have a moral compass sometimes. And at this time I am not liquid enough (or
have the time) to run a non-profit.
So my answer to Ms. Lowball in a language she understands,
was “Screw Fing Music Bingo!”
Since then, Ms. Lowball invested in two online franchises
and the initial returns look fantastic. For our $1,500 investment, with her
content marketing and brokering skill, she cleared over $12,500 in the first 96
hours of launching one franchise.
Time will tell, but the initial investment and zero risk is
so awesome that even if we just got the tax write offs it would pay for itself.
Just as with everything else, the numbers (for me) have to
make sense, and even in spite of her music bingo option, Ms. Lowball came
through….again.
This is NO music bingo! This is MUCH better!
